No Bull Songs Aligns with Hayden’s Ferry Records
For USA Release of New CD By
Celebrated Songwriter/Producer KENNY BUTTERILL
JUST A SONGWRITER In Stores April 22
Nashville, TN – No Bull Songs’ President James Crandell announced a licensing agreement with Hayden’s Ferry Records for the USA release of alt.country/roots songwriter/producer Kenny Butterill’s latest CD, JUST A SONGWRITER. Due to hit stores on April 22, the record will be distributed in the United States by San Francisco-based City Hall Records Distribution.
“We wanted to find just the right stateside label to work with for the new CD. I am most pleased to be working with Stu Baker and Hayden’s Ferry,” said Crandell. “They are passionate about the product they represent and have in-depth knowledge of the Americana/Roots market in the USA.”
JUST A SONGWRITER is garnering rave reviews in international markets since its recent and much-heralded release at MIDEM 2003 in Cannes, France. With 14 original compositions (and two extended bonus tracks), the self-produced project is Butterill personified. Aided by a stellar cast of musicians, including Norton Buffalo, Willie P. Bennett, Ray Bonneville, Joe Weed and John Lee Sanders, Butterill has produced an album of extraordinary warmth and intimacy. The first single from the project, “My Austin Angel,” has already reached the Top 5 on the Independent European Country charts.
“We’re very pleased and proud that Kenny chose to release with us,” says Stu Baker, President of Hayden’s Ferry Records. “He’s certainly carved himself a significant niche in the Roots/Americana scene, and we were very familiar with his work and market appeal. His JUST A SONGWRITER CD is compelling, features poignant songwriting, magnificent musicianship and great production.”
Butterill, known for his unique brand of “bluesy/alt-country/Americana music,” has become a popular fixture in overseas markets since his debut 2000 CD release, NO ONE YOU KNOW. The new licensing/distribution agreement with Hayden’s Ferry will help ensure that JUST A SONGWRITER strikes a responsive chord with the genre’s fans in the USA. “Kenny delivers mesmerizing Alt-Country/Roots magic on this album. Definitely in my Top 10 for 2003.” says Dallas Dobro, KPIG Radio & Strawberry Music Festival.
