Press Release: Released September 5, 2013
Songwriter/Producer KENNY BUTTERILL to play Poet and Patriot on September 14, 2013
“If you dig that JJ Cale sound or John Prine then you’ll like the music of Kenny Butterill” says legendary Americana/Roots DJ Unkle Sherman of KFAT and KPIG Radio (KPIG.com). On Saturday September 14th, The Poet and Patriot Irish Pub in Santa Cruz, CA is proud to present Kenny Butterill in concert at 6pm.
“There is a time in every artist’s career when they are at the top of their game. For Kenny Butterill that time is now! He has a voice that captivates an audience completely, weaving a delightful message lyrically that sends the listener down a long, dusty road or beside the still waters of a Canadian lake. His guitar work is effortless and the notes that resonate from the strings are an integral part of each of his compositions, painting pictures for the listener” says Brent Jeffries, freelance writer for The Sun Times, Owen Sound, ON where Butterill performed earlier this summer.
Sometimes compared to JJ Cale, Gordon Lightfoot and John Prine, Butterill’s delicate, minimalist music is richly textured but never over-produced. It has a warm ambience with an up-close personal vibe with just the right feel and groove.
At this special concert Butterill will be unveiling – for the first time – new unreleased songs from his upcoming CD “Troubadour Tales” for The Poet and Patriot audience. Join us for an intimate evening with Kenny Butterill.
