Roots/Alt-Country’s KENNY BUTTERILL, To Release His JUST A SONGWRITER CD at MIDEM 2003
Nashville, TN (December 19, 2002) – No Bull Songs announced today that Roots/Alt-Country songwriter/producer Kenny Butterill will release his new CD, JUST A SONGWRITER, to International markets at the MIDEM Conference in Cannes, France on January 19, 2003. New distribution/licensing agreements, as well as release dates for USA and Canada, will also be announced at MIDEM.
Known for his unique brand of “rootsy, bluesy, folksy, alt-country Americana music,” Butterill has consistently charted globally since his debut CD release, NO ONE YOU KNOW. When that CD yielded the first Americana format single in two years to cross over and become a #1 Country Hit in Europe in 2002, Stuart Cameron of Europe’s Radio Caroline commented “Kenny Butterill has certainly kicked a few doors down for the Americana acts. His #1 hit ensured that acts like Chip Taylor get plenty of exposure on Country radio.”
Described as a “hidden gem who knows how to write very cool, alt-country, easy chair music,” Butterill’s new JUST A SONGWRITER delivers just that. Filled with inviting melodies, masterful songwriting and engaging, earthy vocals, the self-produced JUST A SONGWRITER album is Kenny Butterill personified: compassionate, sensitive and diverse, yet singularly individualistic.
January also marks the release of the CD’s first International single, “My Austin Angel,” a song with a romantic, late-night feel of Ol’ Mexico, brightened by some fine acoustic guitar work by one of the album’s many musical guests, Billy Don Burns. The melodic sway and warm emotions of this track offer a welcome respite from winter’s chill, and Butterill’s earthy voice embraces – and transports you – to a different place and time.
